Bentonville Mayor Stephanie Orman gave an update on storm recovery at a press conference Friday, May 31.

In the initial aftermath of the storms, nearly 100 roads were blocked in the city, but that number is now down to “8 or 9,” according to Orman. The City maintains a list of road closures here.

Roughly 600 customers of the city-run electric utility are still without power, down from a peak of about 10,000.

The City hopes to restore power to all customers by the end of today, but Orman said the remaining outages require complicated fixes.

“These [customers] are the ones that are in the really intricate areas,” Orman said. “It is really time-consuming and hard work.”

She encouraged people to stay up-to-date by following the City on social media. “That will be the best resource for everybody,” she said.
