As Crystal Bridges prepares for a major expansion set to open in 2026, the museum is temporarily closing some galleries and relocating artwork.

Museum officials say nearly every piece in the building will eventually be moved as part of the transition.

Here are some of the first changes:

  • The Contemporary and Modern galleries were temporarily closed starting Monday, March 24.

  • Some Contemporary works will be relocated to the Early American galleries.

  • Several pieces, including Infinity Mirrored Room, will be temporarily inaccessible. The installation will return in 2026 when the expansion is complete.

Updates will be posted to a dedicated expansion page on the museum’s website.
