You can tell a few things by looking at the colorfully decorated RV that’s been parked around Bentonville in recent weeks:

The occupant loves marijuana, worships Jesus, and is upset with Walmart.

In addition to numerous crosses and marijuana leaves painted on the sides of the vehicle, there are also several handwritten signs. “WALMART! WE! NEED TO TALK! I WILL BE IN TOWN UNTIL WE DO!” one sign says.

The RV has been spotted in several locations around town, but has most often been parked across from the old Walmart Home Office. It’s owned by a man whose legal name is Four Twenty Jim, which he proved by showing a driver’s license. While he has a permanent residence in Arizona, he spends much of his time in the RV, traveling the country to advocate for legalization of marijuana.

However, he’s not in Bentonville for weed advocacy work.

Barefoot and clad in marijuana-themed clothing, Jim explained the motivations for his visit with The Bentonville Bulletin while live-streaming for his 788 Youtube subscribers.

He’s been in the area recently to get Walmart’s attention – and so he can be closer to Springfield, Missouri, where he said he has a court date related to a trespassing citation received at a Walmart store there. A video on his YouTube channel appears to show him receiving the citation several weeks ago.

He said he was given mixed signals from different Walmart staff members about whether he could park his RV there overnight, leading to miscommunication and, eventually, the trespassing charge.

(The Bentonville Bulletin requested comment from Walmart, but has not heard back from the company yet.)

Jim claims that he has not sold or possessed marijuana or otherwise acted inappropriately at any store. “I’ve never done nothing wrong at a Walmart – period,” he said.

To him, it feels that some workers or customers might just dislike his vehicle’s decorations.

“Other campers can spend the night, and they’d beat on my door going ‘get off my property’ and I’m like, why?” Jim said. “They can’t do that. That’s discrimination.”

He said a $2,500 payout from a small claims case he filed, along with a guarantee that he’s welcome at all Walmart stores, would resolve his complaints.
