Part Taproom, Part Boutique: terracotta Opens in Bentonville

Travis and Lauren Banks, the couple behind Greenhouse Aleworks, have expanded their beer operation with a new Bentonville concept: terracotta [a collection of Greenhouse Aleworks].

Part boutique, part taproom, the new space opened last month at 3406 SE J Street #4.

The concept is beer-focused, but without the macho energy that dominates much of the craft beer scene.

“We’ve kind of taken it upon ourselves to have a more feminine brand,” Lauren said. “I have a heart for girls meeting their friends for drinks. If you’re not super into beer, you might not pick a brewery — but this can be that place. It’s not overly girly, but it still feels like a happy, cute place to drink.”

On the shelves, there are curated items like candles, hand lotions, and gifts.

“I call this a boutique taproom because I had a gift store in Texas with my mom for almost 10 years, and I really missed the retail side of business,” Lauren said. “I wanted a small space that combined gifts and aesthetically pleasing things with a place to enjoy our beer and other fun drinks.”

The space has seating for about 25. The limited seating isn’t a drawback — Lauren says the layout fosters connection: “We have a space that feels a little bit more like a community — and like making friends without having meant to. I'm passionate about that.”

Travis and Lauren launched Greenhouse Aleworks in 2023, opening a Rogers taproom in December of that year. The location was destroyed during the Memorial Day weekend storms in 2024, but the couple plans to open a new location in Downtown Rogers — hopefully sometime this summer.

The hours for terracotta are Wednesday through Saturday, 12–8 p.m. The Instagram handle is @terracotta.nwa.
