For a brief six-month stretch last year, Bentonville had a nightclub.
Backroom Social Club, previously located at 1004 SE 5th St. in Bentonville, was known for late-night music and supporting indie artists. A sister business offering studio space for artists operated in the same building.
The venue shut down in July after complaints from neighbors led the landlord to impose new restrictions on how late the venue could be open, co-owner Sam Solano previously told The Bentonville Bulletin.
“I think we’re about 10 years ahead on this space,” Solano said at the time.
Now, Backroom has found a new home at 200 Holcomb St. in downtown Springdale.
Speaking to KUAF, Solano and co-owner Karen Leibowitz said they feel welcome there.
“The change in the environment is completely different. The City — we've already been partnering with them on events. They're trying to unblock any red tape possible. And once they heard we were coming to Springdale, they were super excited,” Solano said.
The owners also highlighted the variety of late-night food options in the area and the location’s proximity to The Medium, an arts facility with theater, gallery, and studio space.
