Who Wants to Be the Next City Council Member?

There could be a new Bentonville City Council member tomorrow.
Council members will decide how to fill the Ward 1 seat vacated by Gayatri Richardson, who stepped down last month, during Tuesday night’s meeting.
The term runs through 2028, leaving a substantial portion of a four-year term.
Fifteen residents have submitted interest in the appointment. See who they are — and why they want to join the council.
How Bentonville Keeps Landing National Media Coverage

Bentonville has been getting a lot of national media attention recently.
Just last week, The New York Times published an article with suggestions on how to spend 36 hours in Bentonville.
The growing list of media mentions isn’t a coincidence — it’s the result of a deliberate strategy shift.
More Chances to Win: Bentonville E-Bike Drawings Now Held Monthly

Bentonville’s e-bike rebate program recently shifted to awarding vouchers monthly instead of six times per year, a change designed to create a more predictable schedule as demand for the program continues to grow.
Drawings now take place on the third Monday of each month, giving applicants more regular opportunities and spreading rebates throughout the year.
“We’re not running out of residents who want the e-bikes,” said Josh Stacey, deputy director of Bentonville Parks & Recreation, the city department that runs the rebate program. “The appetite is definitely here, and it continues to accelerate.”
