Bentonville Couple Will Open Wine Shop in Their Townhouse

A couple living downtown plans to renovate the front of their townhome at 421 Southwest B Street into a small boutique wine shop.
The plan is to convert a bedroom/den-like space on the ground level into a storefront that will accommodate no more than three customers at a time. The store will sell wine for off-premise consumption, with no tastings or drinking on-site. It will also offer items that pair well with wine, such as cheeses, chocolates, olive oils, and jams.
The Cellar on B Street, as the 169-square-foot wine shop will be known, was approved at the Planning Commission meeting on August 5, with a permit that will allow operations for a year.
FreshGrass Festival in Bentonville Discontinued
The FreshGrass Festival in Bentonville is being canceled, according to a post shared by the organizers on Facebook:
After much thoughtful consideration, the FreshGrass Foundation and the Momentary have made the joint decision to conclude the FreshGrass | Bentonville festival.
Since its inception in 2021, FreshGrass | Bentonville has brought together artists and audiences to celebrate world-class roots music in the heart of Northwest Arkansas. We are incredibly proud of the festivals we’ve created together, full of unforgettable performances and joyful community.
A version of the festival will continue to be held by the FreshGrass Foundation in North Adams, Massachusetts.
Airship’s Trailside Coffee Shop Was a Gamble. It Paid Off.

Airship Coffee opened a location in Coler Mountain Bike Preserve in 2020.
Exposed to the elements. No parking lot. No wifi. Just a café, about a mile into the park, accessible only by bike or on foot.
Was it crazy or brilliant?
New Map Shows State of Sewer Pipes in Bentonville

Development is paused in some parts of Bentonville due to sewer capacity issues, as The Bentonville Bulletin has previously reported. In certain areas, the pipes that carry sewage to treatment plants are too small to handle growth.
A new map created by city staff offers more detailed insight into the issue, showing the capacity of individual sewer pipes in the affected areas. To view the data, access the Bentonville GIS master map and toggle on the “sewer capacity” layer.
On the map, green indicates adequate capacity, red means the pipe is undersized, and blue shows that an issue downstream in the system is affecting that section. Black lines represent smaller pipes that have not yet been evaluated by the city but will require evaluation if new developments are proposed.
Local Residents Trade Corporate Life for a Bakery Dream

Great Harvest NWA is now open in Bentonville, offering fresh-baked bread, pastries, sandwiches, coffee, and more.
Everything is made fresh daily in an open kitchen where customers can see the process.
The bakery is a partnership between Tonya Kissinger and Dusty and Karla White. All three have corporate backgrounds but are newcomers to the restaurant industry (not including part time jobs in their teenage years).
Big TV at The Barber

The Barber, a new bar at 115 NW 2nd Street, is about to be the latest addition to the Bentonville bar scene.
The name is a nod to the building’s decades-long history as a barbershop. That history is reflected in the décor, with a barber pole and a sign from its days as Corner Barber & Styling reinstalled.
To make use of the outdoor space, the team installed a 9-by-12-foot television.
